LCI-Anthem Workday at VCB in Spring Valley, NY
The Lions and Leo at VCB on 10.10.15 |
On October 10, 2015 seven Lions: Marcella, Ormond, Michelle , Yvette, Joycelyn, Joan and Keisha and Leo Myles headed up to the Vision Camp for the Blind in Spring Valley, NY in 2 cars. We arrived at VCB at 8:50am. We signed in to acknowledge our presence and as a waiver for use of our image. I picked up a copy of a VCB booklet that outlined the Lion's assistance to the VCB during the previous year for the Club’s records. BKCLC was one the earliest clubs to arrive since most clubs in Brooklyn met with traffic delays due to street closures that morning. The VCB Staff served tea, coffee , juice and Dunkin Donuts for breakfast. Lion Ormand made sausage for breakfast but Lion Keisha and Lion Michelle could not handle the little bit of pepper he added. After breakfast we picked up our cleaning supplies and headed out to our two cabins. We cleaned both cabins and cut the grass. We have to return in the Spring to make some minor repairs to the roofs of the cabins and to paint the exterior. We also noted the cleaning supplies to bring in the future to make our jobs easier. Since we arrived so early , with such a big group we finished early and were ready to head home by 11:30am.
